Gas For Less Money

Finding the lowest prices for gas can be a full-time occupation. When you consider that ten cents per gallon difference can mean a savings of hundreds of dollars per year, it pays to put a little effort into finding the cheapest gasoline prices.

Mapquest now has a new feature to help find the lowest prices for gas. In addition to a map showing lowest gas price (currently $3.46 per gallon) and highest gas price (currently $5.06 per gallon), they’ve included a nifty “Gas Calculator” for figuring out how much a given trip will cost you and your miles per gallon (mpg).

It’s not likely that you will live within driving distance of the cheapest gas prices, but you can certainly scout out cheaper prices in your general area. You can even put in your ‘coordinates’ - meaning your street and intersection - to find lower prices on gas nearby. This can be used for diesel fuel as well as regular gasoline.
